At the same time, India has decided to build the Tejas Mark 2 aircraft to replace the retiring MiG 29, Mirage 2000 and Jaguar aircraft in the near future. The Tejas Mark 2 will be a medium combat fighter aircraft. A 4.5 ++ generation aircraft like the Rafale. In some respects it will be better than Rafale. Also, some of the technology from the world's best fighter jet, the F22 Rafter, is going to be in the Tejas Mark 2. Tejas Mark 2 will be of Cunard delta wing design. General Electric's jet engine will be installed in it. The aircraft will be capable of carrying 6500 kg of weapons.

The weapon developed by India on the Tejas Mark 2 is the BVR Mark 1, 2 and 3. Missiles will be installed. The weapon Mark 3 will have a range of 350 km.
