The year 2020 dawned with the advent of Corona. Corona was spreading rapidly in India and in the world. Corona has reached 4.5 crore people in India alone till date. So till date nearly 5.5 lakh people have lost their lives. Corona brought the whole world to a standstill. At the same time research on this disease started in India and in the world. The world's two largest democracies were hit hardest by the disease. Those countries are America and India. The way in which the transmission of this disease continues even today even after the introduction of a vaccine against the corona disease is a subject of great study. Basically, how does this virus enter the body? How does it attack different parts of a person when it enters? How can this infection be prevented? Research is still going on in the world on one or many such questions. A research on the overall journey of Corona virus and its different attack on men and women has been brought forward by a doctor mother daughter duo. He has presented a different conclusion to the world after researching the patients infected with Corona virus in India and America. They are Durgashakti Dr. Jayanti Shastri and Dr. Aditi Shastri.

Dr. Jayanthi Shastri is the Chairman of the Department of Microbiology at Kasturba Hospital, Mumbai, which conducts research on infectious diseases. Dr. Aditi Shastri is an assistant professor of oncology at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York. While the world was caught in the grip of the Corona epidemic, the mother and daughter duo were researching the Corona virus in their own way at the two ends of the world. In India and America at the same time, Corona took its hold on a very large scale. The mother-daughter pair were investigating many questions like the symptoms of these patients, their body's resistance and the time it takes for the patient to recover. How is your research progressing? What is the problem? The mother and daughter used to discuss these things every day. These things were talked about in the spare time while traveling in the car through the traffic on the way home. In America, when Dr. Aditi Shastri used to go to her workplace, at the same time Jayanti used to go home through the traffic of Mumbai. When the findings coming out from the research were being told to each other, a harmony started to appear in it. Corona virus makes men affect faster and more easily than women. Also, it was clear in their research that it takes more time for men to come out of the grip of corona virus than women. Findings from patients in two corners of the world were revealing new information about the corona virus.

When the mother and daughter researched this further with their respective teams, the findings were even more illuminating. ACE2 is the receptor that allows the corona virus to enter the human body. This receptor is widely available in the testicles of men. But at the same time, the ovaries of women do not have this at all. After a study of patients in India and America, the figures showed that the number of men who get corona and lose their lives is much higher than that of women. This means that this receptor in the testicles of men may be the location of the corona virus or help it.

It is clear that the receptor ACE-2 or Angiotensin receptor-2 mixes with the spike protein of the corona virus and opens the entrance for the virus to enter the human cell. It is obvious that the greater the number of ACE-2 receptors in the human body, the greater the infection, spread and capacity of the corona virus. Dr. Jayanthi Shastri and Dr. Aditi Shastri's research shows that this receptor, which is abundant in the testicles of men, leads men to be closer to infection, transmission and death of this virus than women. Does the ovary of male patients with corona virus have any problem after recovering from this disease? How does the male ovary play a crucial role in the spread of this disease? Do men and women need to be medicated differently? Many other such questions are being explored by the mother and daughter duo at two corners of the world.

Dr. Jayanti Shastri and Dr. Aditi Shastri, who conducted an important research in understanding the Corona virus, are a form of Durga Shakti. This occasion highlights that the interaction between mother and daughter while leading two different generations has the power to give a different twist to the research on a human disease. They have shown that basic research can be done in two corners of the world without letting each other's egos get in the way, maintaining their respective fields and research on their own separate paths. My strong salute to Dr. Durgashakti Dr. Jayanti Shastri and Dr. Aditi Shastri who have done groundbreaking research in Corona virus research. All the best for his further research.
