Twins have a different world. It is very different to think that someone like us was born into this universe at the same moment. Although born as twins, their paths of life are different. It is very rare that twins have identical dreams. When dreams are lofty, few can rise to the challenge. When the same dreams are seen by two twin Indian girls, the difficulties are multiplied many times. Where one girl dreams like this is not easily accepted even today, how difficult it will be for twin girls to dream like this at the same time and make him their target. But as written above, when you believe in your own abilities and get the right support, the high jump feels like touching the sky. This is the story of two such twin girls whose dream jump has earned them a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. This is the story of twin sisters Tashi and Nungshi Malik, in whose form of Durga Shakti India's tricolor is flying across the world today.
The story of Tashi and Nungshi Malik begins in the year 2009. Before that, her life started like a normal girl. Both were interested in sports along with studies. He participated in all sports including basketball, badminton, athletics and hockey. But in 2009, when his father enrolled him in the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering for training in mountaineering, After that they started to wear ice caps. First, these two sisters proved themselves at all levels, from basic to advanced mountaineering courses, training courses and skiing to search and rescue. Their teachers named them 'Everest Twins' after seeing their determination, willingness to work hard and eagerness to pursue their dreams. Encouraged him to climb the highest peak in the world.
The journey to climb Everest was not easy. While climbing the world's highest peak, your mental abilities are tested along with your physical abilities. Apart from this, financial aspect is also important. In all these journeys, there are many dangers and difficulties at every moment. Changing nature, slippery path and many other things that are life threatening. So it became difficult for a mother to decide to send both her daughters to such a dangerous road at the same time. But his father, who was part of the Indian Army, strongly supported him. Colonel Virender Singh Malik joined the Indian Army from the National Defense Academy and was a member of Sam Manekshaw's 2/8 Gorkha Regiment. Taking inspiration from their father, both these twin sisters marched towards Everest. But before that they crossed the 19,000 feet peak of Mount Rudugaira.
In the summer of May 2013, They planted the tricolor on Mount Everest. After that, in just two years, They climbed all the highest peaks in all the seven continents of the world. Mount Everest (Asia, world's tallest, May 2013), Mount Elbrus (Europe, August 2013), Mount Aconcagua (South America, January 2014), Mount Carstensz Pyramid (Australia, March 2014), Mount Denali (North America, June 2014), Mount Kilimanjaro (Africa, February 2012), (Africa, July 2015) After that they climbed both the poles of the earth i.e. the North Pole and the South Pole (April 21, 2015). Recorded in the Book of World Records. "Explorer's Grand Slam" (climbing the world's seven highest peaks, including Everest, and skiing to the North and South Poles) at the age of just 23. They became the youngest woman's to complete the feat as well as the only twin sisters in the world to have accomplished the feat. Only 29 people in the world have done this feat before them. Only 8 women have achieved this till date. Tashi and Nungshi Malik have achieved this great success at the age of just 23 years. In recognition of his feat, the Government of India has honored him with the Tenzing Norgay National Courage Award.
In April 2015, they established the 'Nungshitashi Foundation' to empower girls in India to be self-reliant and eradicate discrimination based on gender. The twin objectives of the organization are to develop mountaineering as a sport in India and to empower girls through outdoor adventure. Also, through this foundation, They has set a target of "making India an 'outdoor nation' with active and equal participation of girls and women". They has not been left behind in her studies when it comes to empowering and empowering women. 88% and 86% in All India Board Exams and 94% and 92% in Commerce in Graduation from Sikkim Manipal University with First Division in Journalism and Mass Communication. Both are pursuing higher education in exercise and sports science from Invercargill, New Zealand.
Adventure sports are still not popular in India. Even today in India, girls who participate in adventure sports are looked at differently. They face many taunts in their life. Even today, families are not ready to accept them as daughters-in-law in the society. Even today, girls are banned from participating in adventure sports and especially in areas like mountaineering. There, the example of Durga Shakti put forward by Tashi and Nungshi Malik is sure to tear the veil of social order. While pursuing their hobbies, interests, both these sisters have continued to climb the success graph in their school and other courses as well. The unique nature of Durga Shakti is the example of these two sisters, who understand each other well as twins and who are climbing in different fields at the same time. Congratulations to them for his phenomenal success and I wish them all the best for his future journey...
