In the wake of the war between Russia and Ukraine, the world is once again talking about nuclear war. After the devastation caused by the atomic bomb in World War II, the world is once again moving towards nuclear war. At such a time when nuclear armed countries like China and Pakistan have been used as enemies, India needs to be prepared for such kind of nuclear war. As part of that, India recently tested its nuclear triad readiness. So what exactly was this test? What is Nuclear Triad? What has India proved by taking this test? We should know what far-reaching consequences this is going to have.

India on October 14, 2022, its I.N.S. A Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) has been successfully test-fired from a nuclear-powered submarine, Arihant. INS Arihant is India's first nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines (SSBN). India started the Advanced Technology Vessel (ATV) program in the 1990s. Under this program INS Arihant submarine was built at a cost of 11 billion US dollars. In this 83 MW energy is produced by light water reactor. In which enriched uranium is used as fuel. This submarine was launched in 2009. After completing all the tests, she was inducted into the Navy in 2016. This test was conducted from this submarine.

India tested ballistic missiles from this nuclear submarine. A ballistic missile is a missile that is initially propelled by a rocket or rocket stages, then glides to reach its intended target and strikes with the help of gravity. India's Agni missile series works in a similar manner. So far, India has had the capability to launch nuclear strikes from land, air and surface water. But there was no capability to launch nuclear missiles underwater. India desperately needed to have such a proven underwater presence. This is because India has taken the obligation to not launch a nuclear attack on any country for the first time on its own. India has made it clear that if India launches a nuclear attack, it will be in response to a nuclear attack on Indian soldiers, territory, any part of India. Suppose there is a nuclear attack on Indian soil, if there is a need to respond, India needs to have a mechanism to survive and respond to that nuclear attack when there is havoc on the ground.

Undersea nuclear capability gives India the ability to carry out a second strike i.e. counter strike. These submarines and nuclear missiles can not only survive an enemy's first nuclear strike, but also launch a retaliatory nuclear strike, thus giving India what it calls a credible nuclear strike capability. Which missile was tested by India? What is their capacity? How he hit the target is still classified. According to many defense experts, the test was of the 'K' family of missiles. The missile is known as K in honor of India's Missile Man Reverend Doctor APJ Abdul Kalam. (Some of our self-proclaimed academics get a kick out of this when they doubt their very efficacy.) (Dr. Abdul Kalam's birthday was on October 15. India has conducted this test a day before the same date.) The missile tested by India is highly likely to be the K-15 Sagarika. The capability of this missile is to engage the target at a distance of 750 km. India has the K4 missile of the same family. Which can go up to 3500 km. Also, work is underway on missiles with a range of K5 (5000 km), K6 (6000 km).

With this successful test, India joins the ranks of many advanced nations that have the technology for such a method. India's two more nuclear submarines are undergoing tests and they were also under Indian defense soon. Apart from that, K series missiles are coming along with them. The control of this entire nuclear submarine, the system of firing nuclear missiles during an emergency, their handling, its protocols have all been practiced on the occasion of this test. India has made it clear that it has achieved its target at all these levels. On this occasion, a message has gone out to the world that independent India is now ready for nuclear war.

Jai Hind!!!
