The boat does not cross for fear of the waves,

Those who try do not lose ....

This beautiful poem was composed by Sohanlal Dwivedi. In this poem, the mentality of struggling till he succeeds was wrapped in very beautiful words. Today is the occasion to remember this poem. Of 'Draupadi Murmu' selected as president nominee from BJP. The words came out of my mouth as i read their struggling and equally inspiring journey. 

No one can predict where the situation will take a person. In the 1965 film, Balraj Sahni had said a famous dialogue,

"Time is everything, time only makes, and time only spoils"

Draupadi Murmu's entire life revolves around this one dialogue.That is why her selection for the top post in India will be special for a number of reasons. She was born on 20th June 1958 in Baidaposi village of Mayurganj district in a tribal tribe called Santhal. Her father was the Sarpanch in the Panchayat. Therefore, it would be correct to say that she got the first lessons of politics from her father. But her political journey was not easy.Due to the difficult situation at home, she completed her education poorly. She graduated from Ramadevi Women's College with a degree in Arts. She then got a job as a clerk in the electrical and irrigation department of the Orissa government. She later worked as an honorary teacher at the Aurobindo Integral Education Center. She was married to Shyam charan Murmu. As her journey continues with a family of two boys and a girl laughing and playing, the situation took such a turn that any woman should go through collapse.

She joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 1997. In the same year, she was elected as a corporator in the state of Orissa. She was sworn in as a Minister in the Orissa Government in 2000. She was elected MLA twice from 2000 to 2009. In 2007, She was awarded the Nilkanta Award. The award is given for the best MLA in the Orissa Legislative Assembly. On the one hand, while climbing the ladder of success in political life, a series of crises began in her personal life. Her partner Shyam charan Murmu died. Their eldest son died before she could recover from the shock. Until she recovers from this, time has once again taken away her second son in an accident. In her personal life, the sudden departure of three people, not one or two, completely destroyed her. In her personal life, this sudden storm would have killed any woman, but Draupadi Murmu did not succumb to this situation. Instead, she became stronger and decided to spend her life in social service.

She continued her social service from Bharatiya Janata Party. Respecting her work, the party gave her the responsibility of becoming the governor in 2015. She was appointed as the 9th Governor of Jharkhand. She became the first woman governor of the state of Jharkhand and the first woman from all over India to become a governor from a tribal community. When she was governor, she repealed the land lease law passed by her own (BJP) party but which was a problem for the tribal people. She enhanced the prestige of the post of Governor by giving top priority to public interest and national interest over the party. That is why despite the Biju Janata Dal government in Orissa, the Chief Minister had many times praised her impartial administration.

As she celebrated her 64th birthday at home on June 20, She had no idea that her party would give her a chance to sit at the top position of India. On June 21, 2022, the Bharatiya Janata Party declared her as its candidate for the presidency. A circle of equally inspiring journeys of struggle was completed. Many factors came together to support her name. Struggling political journey through a very difficult situation from a tribal community, absorbing so many traumas in one's personal life and concentrating on social work as well as her ability to make impartial political decisions by embracing all and not just the Bharatiya Janata Party. B.J.D. also supported her name. Therefore, her becoming the President of India is considered a mere formality.

Draupadi Murmu is known in her party and state for her calm, restrained and diligent work. Though her name seems new in the politics of the country, She has left her mark in the politics of the party and the state.That is why her name has received support from both the High Command and the Leader of the Opposition. I have no doubt that her election as the 15th President of India on July 21, 2022 will mark another milestone in her journey to the highest office. My best wishes for her future endeavors.
