Symbol of love ... Vinit Vartak ©
Everyone wants to leave something behind as a symbol of love to show respect or love for the spouse who accompanies them in their life, to bear witness of their love to the world forever after them. What is the symbol of love in India? If such a question is asked, the name 'Taj Mahal' will appear on the lips of almost everyone. But is it really a symbol of love? In fact, the entire generation in our country has been taught wrong things for three to four generations after independence. One of them is the Taj Mahal, a symbol of love in India. History has it that the Taj Mahal was built by 20,000 people after the death of his third wife, Mumtaz, while giving birth to their 14th child. The atrocities committed against the workers are still being told today. it has no proof. But was this love really about art? Was it about love towards his wife? Or was it to save our existence on Indian soil? This means that everyone should interpret their own judgement. Although the Taj Mahal is a beautiful work of art, it certainly does not fit my definition of a symbol of love.
The feeling of love begins with sacrifice. Giving something to someone is more of a feeling of love than having something of yours. We will build a symbol of love for a person from which the source of love will increase the feeling of sacrifice, dedication, love in the course of time just like that person and will continue to work behind us for the welfare of the people or to remove the darkness in their life. Sadly, we have been taught so many things in a wrong way that we cannot believe that such a symbol of unparalleled love actually exists. In fact, many forms of those symbols have become kalpavriksha and are still working to remove the darkness in the life of every Indian. Even today, the combination of all the above mentioned emotions can be seen here. Even today, these symbols are contributing to the progress of modern India and to rekindle love in the lives of Indians. This is the symbol of such a love.
It was 1896 when the world's largest diamond was discovered at the Jagersfontein mine in South Africa. The diamond weighed as much as 650 carats (130 grams). After cutting the side of that diamond, a very beautiful diamond was born out of it. The same name was 'Jubilee Diamond'. The same weight was 245.35 carats (49.07 grams). At the dawn of 1900, the diamond was purchased by Sir Dorabji Tata, the eldest son of Sir Jamshedji Tata, the architect of India's Industrial Revolution. He presented the biggest diamond of that time to his wife Meherbai Bhabha as a symbol of his love. Meherbai Bhabha's brother was Jahangir Bhabha, the father of Homi Bhabha, the father of India's Atomic Energy Program. So this diamond was very close to Meherbai Bhabha. In many programs, she had placed Jubilee Diamond around his neck. Meherbai Bhabha died of leukemia in 1931 at the age of 52. His death made Sir Dorabji Tata feel the short life of his spouse. He made a decision to immortalize his love for Meherbai. It is a symbol of love.
After Meherbai's death, Sir Dorabji Tata auctioned off her 21 pieces of jewelery and, most importantly, her Jubilee Diamond. He raised Rs 10 million from it at that time. At present, it will cost more than Rs 500 million. From this he established the image of his love i.e. Sir Dorabji Tata Trust. The organizations that have sprung up from this trust today will realize how big the symbol of their love is. Tata Memorial Hospital, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, TIFR (Tata Institute of Fundamental Research), Indian Institute of Science. And the list goes on and on. The disease that took his beloved wife away from us. The Tata Memorial Hospital, established for the study, treatment and research of cancer, is world-renowned for its unparalleled love and devotion.
Each year, 60,000 to 70,000 cancer patients are treated at the Tata Memorial Hospital. It attracts people not only from India but from all over Asia. The hospital is known worldwide as one of the best cancer hospitals in the eastern part of the world. It is noteworthy that 70% of these patients are treated for free. Every day more than 1000 cancer patients visit the OPD here. 6500 operations and more than 6000 patients are treated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The latest cancer treatment technology from around the world is available at this hospital.
In my opinion, it is not possible to immortalize your love in a different way than this. What is the best symbol of love in the world? If anyone asks me such a question, the answer would be Tata Memorial Hospital and Tata Trust. The beauty of the Taj Mahal may be even greater. The look may be better but the feeling of love does not sense there. If you really want to experience it, it will come from the Tata Memorial Hospital and other institutions started by Tata. Sadly, for many years now, the symbol that has given many Indians and people around the world the opportunity to be cancer-free and to fight with chronic diseases like cancer, has not yet dawned on Indians. Even today, Indians consider it a blessing to take a selfie in a white confluence. The fact is that we have failed to understand the symbol of love.
My heartfelt salute to Sir Dorabji Tata and Meherbai for creating a symbol of love that saves the lives of thousands of people. There is no doubt that all Indians and many generations to come will carry the message of love, sacrifice, socialism and selflessness through this symbol of your timeless love.
Jai Hind !!!
