Foreign Policy Minister 'S. Jayashankar' ... Vinit Vartak ©
2015 was the year. After the elections in India, a new government took over the country. Sushma Swaraj was in charge of India's foreign policy. Until that time, India's foreign policy had been following the lead of the developed world. In fact, it was not up to India to decide what the world, especially the United States and European countries, should say. India's power was not valued much in the world. In fact, India was afraid to express its views in the international arena. No one in the United Nations, the G20 and many other different organizations and groups seemed to be interested in what India was saying. But in 2015, the winds had changed direction. The decision to change India's foreign ministry was taken by the then leadership on the basis of proper leadership and changed economic and global mathematics. As part of that, an official with just two days left to retire from the State Department received a message that he would be present in the South Block immediately. He was informed by Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj that he had been appointed as India's Foreign Secretary. The then Indian Foreign Secretary Sujata Singh was told that her services were no longer needed. This decision marked the beginning of a new era in foreign affairs. The officer selected by Sushma Swaraj was the present Foreign Minister of India, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, better known as S. Jayashankar.
S. Jaishankar's appointment was made setting aside many government rules. Because in a way, this appointment laid the groundwork for a person to be given a chance by believing in his or her performance rather than his or her tenure. The name S.Jaishankar was not new to the foreign ministry. S. Jayashankar's behind-the-scenes role was crucial in reviving the Indo-US Nuclear Cooperation Agreement and the Khobragade drama that tarnished India's image on the world stage. S. Jayashankar had a reputation in the External Affairs Ministry as a dutiful, honest and accomplished officer who was not greedy for publicity. That is why Sushma Swaraj chose him to take responsibility for all her decisions. Sushma Swaraj is credited with creating a new India on the world stage. Her reluctance to co-operate promptly with the rescue of Indians from different parts of the world, their problems abroad, the problems they were facing, gave them a special place in the minds of Indians. Behind all this he had gained a strong foreign secretary. Jaishankar. In the Indo-China Doklama dispute of 2017, it was S. Jayashankar's successful game of trapping China in a political way. Due to this, in the eyes of the Prime Minister, S. Jaishankar filled.
Former Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh Jaishankar's deeds had fascinated him. After Ranjan Mathai, the Prime Minister had said that he should be appointed as the Foreign Secretary. The government was acting on the instructions of the High Command. The High Command did not consider this decision appropriate. The Prime minister did not have the courage to reject the High command decision because of the government's seniority and the promotion of S. Jayashankar. He was therefore sent as the Indian Ambassador to the United States. After his retirement from the Foreign Office, in April 2018, S. Jaishankar started working as the President of Tata Sons. After the demise of Sushma Swaraj in 2019, the Prime Minister wanted someone to take charge of this department. That is why the only name in front of Sushma Swaraj who is so knowledgeable and aware of world politics and diplomacy is' S. Jaishankar '.
Traveling from Foreign Secretary to Foreign Minister and Cabinet Minister, S. Jaishankar is the first and only officer. The fact that India has a Minister with a knot of nearly 38 years of experience in the Ministry of External Affairs is a turning point in India's foreign policy. In the 21 months since the world was hit by the Corona epidemic, S. Jayashankar has visited 27 countries. Along with enhancing relations between India and those nations, he also showed them the importance of vaccine diplomacy, India's position. The role of India's Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and self-reliant India was more clearly articulated globally than China's expansionist role. Whether it is Pakistan or China, both of them have to respond in the same way at the international level. Jaishankar's share remains the lion's share. Today, the Prime Minister of India's enemy country, Pakistan, openly sings the praises of India's foreign policy in a news channel or in a meeting, which shows how much India's foreign policy is being minted on the world stage. They don't say anything just like that. This is due to the background of the Russia-Ukraine war.
India's foreign relations are being tested in the wake of the Russia-Ukraine war. On the one hand, India cannot afford to lose a permanent ally like Russia. But the whole world today is appreciating the diplomacy of S. Jayashankar, who has firmly put India's side on the world stage. Pakistan is also included in the appreciation ceremony. On the one hand, India has slammed Russia over human rights abuses in Ukraine and the war as a whole. But at the same time, we have made it clear to the world that we will not leave our friend alone. The true friend is the one who makes you aware of your mistakes in private but stands with you in front of everyone. India has succumbed to pressure from the United States and Europe. But showing them their place has given the message that India is not afraid of anyone's father. The Wazir of India who is the mastermind behind all these moves is S.Jaishankar '.
At a bilateral press conference between India and the United States on April 11, 2022, foreign journalists tried to trap India by raising the issue of India's oil purchases from Russia. on it S.Jaishankar literally took out the lease of that journalist and the US and European countries pursuing the agenda against India. He said that India buys as much oil from Russia in a month, while countries in Europe buy same amount of oil in a day. Now you see who is helping Russia? The journalist's neck went down in shame. India has sided with Russia in the Russia-Ukraine war. Do you support this role? But he hit a six on this question. India does not need to learn from journalists like you what to do. India makes its own decisions in its own interest as other countries in the world do. So the world should not tell us what India should do. These two answers have stirred up the whole of diplomacy. The United States, as usual, raised the issue of human rights abuses in India. on it S.Jaishankar said everyone has the right to express the opinion. We have the right to express our opinion on that matter. So America should think about what human rights are being trampled on in its own home rather than covering other people's homes. Yesterday, an innocent citizen died in the United States. That's the way he put USA teeth in their throat.
This role of S. Jayashankar is being appreciated not only in India but all over the world. This is the reason why it has become part of the foreign policy discussion to put the interest of our country first and then think of the rest. That is why a country like Pakistan is openly praising India's foreign policy today. S. Jayashankar is fluent in Tamil, English, Hindi and Russian. S. Jayashankar's mastery of the Russian language is considered to be one of the reasons why India gets oil from Russia at very cheap rates. Because he was able to present the role of India to the Russian leaders in their language. Russia then decided to supply oil to India at about 25% cheaper. To repatriate Indian students stranded from Ukraine S.Jaishankar has a lion's share. He was instrumental in making the mission a success, co-ordinating with all countries, even forcing Russia to suspend the war for some time. BOJO who visited India yesterday. (Boris Johnson) statement says a lot today. Bojo said,
India’s position on Russia well known and it won’t change: PM Boris Johnson
This means too much. Apparently, England and Europe have accepted India's role. No matter how much pressure is put on India, India will not bow down. In a way, it is a clear confession that India will make the right decision. Even if India plays such a role, it will not affect our relations. This means that India's role will now be decided by India. He is not afraid of anyone's father. No matter how much pressure someone puts on him, he will do what is right for him. That is when the leader of a European country comes to India and confesses. So we can't imagine how far-reaching the consequences are. Today, India's diplomacy and tactics are a subject of research all over the world. Because at the same time, India is maintaining its relations with the nations on both sides. The Russia-Ukraine war has soured relations between many countries. But India has become stronger. The real architect of this Chanakya policy is the Foreign Policy Minister 'S. Jayashankar'.

ReplyDeleteI'm an ardent fan of your blogs in both languages. However I find the English versions have several grammatical errors which completely alter the meaning of the sentence.
